Private Property
Getting married where you learned to ride a bike beats any venue's view. It also takes real logistics — which is exactly the part we take off your hands.
Some of the best weddings we plan happen at addresses that mean something: a parents' garden in Sonoma County, a grandparent's ranch, a rented estate where everyone stays the weekend. No venue can compete with a place that's already part of your story.
The honest trade: a private property gives you unlimited freedom and zero infrastructure. Weddings that feel effortless in a backyard are the ones where someone sweated the unglamorous details months earlier. We volunteer as that someone — it's the job.
A backyard is a blank venue
Real venues come with tables, restrooms, power, parking, and a kitchen. A backyard comes with none of them — every piece arrives on a truck. That's not a reason to skip it; it's the checklist we manage: rentals, generators or power planning, restroom trailers if needed, and load-in logistics.
The kitchen is wherever we build it
Caterers cook brilliant dinners out of tents, garages, and rented field kitchens — if someone plans the water, power, and staging with them in advance. We do that walkthrough with your caterer before anyone signs anything.
Neighbors, noise, and paperwork
Sound carries after dark, counties and municipalities have amplified-sound and event rules, and homeowner's insurance rarely covers a hosted event on its own. We flag what applies to your property — including event insurance, typically a few hundred dollars — before it can surprise you.
Weather needs a written plan
A venue has a ballroom behind the terrace; a backyard has whatever we've arranged. Tent contingency, shade for afternoon sun, heaters for wine country evenings — decided in advance, so weather is a detail and not a crisis.
No property in the family? Rented vacation estates across Sonoma and the Russian River give you the private-property feeling — plus hot tubs — for a weekend. We plan those the same way.

Sometimes — but not automatically. You save the venue fee and gain total freedom, then buy back infrastructure: rentals (tables, chairs, linens, place settings), possibly a tent, power, restrooms for larger groups, and insurance. For very small guest counts on a well-equipped property, it's often a genuine saving; for 40+ guests it usually costs about the same as a modest venue, and you choose it for meaning rather than math.
Yes — private property weddings are part of what we do across Sonoma County and the Bay Area. We walk the property (in person or by video), build the rental and logistics plan, confirm what the site genuinely needs, and coordinate every vendor to a home address as smoothly as to a winery.
It depends on your jurisdiction and the event's footprint. Amplified music, parking impacts, large tents, and guest counts can each trigger local rules. Part of our planning is checking what applies to your specific property so the day is clean.
The same core as everywhere: officiant, personal florals, wedding cake, hair & makeup, day-of coordinator, and planning portal — plus the property-specific logistics planning. Rentals, catering, and photography are billed by those vendors directly, with everything coordinated by us.
