Budget Guide
Real numbers, plainly stated. Here's where the money goes — and how a shorter guest list buys a better day.
Wedding pricing is famously foggy, so let's skip the fog. A traditional Sonoma wedding — 100+ guests, full vendor team, Saturday in season — commonly lands in the $60,000–$100,000+ range. That's not a scare number; it's just what that format costs in one of America's most in-demand wedding regions.
A micro wedding rewrites the math, because nearly every cost scales with guest count. Below is what the pieces actually run in Sonoma County, based on the weddings we plan.
Venue
$1,000 – $8,000+
Restaurant private rooms are often just a food & beverage minimum. Winery sites and estates charge site fees that climb with exclusivity and Saturday demand.
Food & beverage
$100 – $250 per person
The quality-per-dollar in Sonoma is exceptional at small scale — this range buys chef-driven menus and local wine, not banquet trays.
Photography
$2,500 – $5,000
Four to six hours of coverage from an experienced wine country photographer. Micro weddings need fewer hours than traditional ones.
Planning, coordination & core vendors
$4,500 – $9,500
Our all-inclusive package: officiant, florals, wedding cake, hair & makeup, day-of coordinator, and planning portal — one price, stated up front.
Elopement (2–8 people)
≈ $7,000 – $12,000 all-in
Package ($4,500) + ceremony site or permit + intimate dinner + a few hours of photography. The full wine country experience at its simplest.
Micro wedding (≈ 20 guests)
≈ $14,000 – $22,000 all-in
Package + winery or restaurant venue + dinner and drinks for twenty + photography. This is the sweet spot most of our couples land in.
Intimate wedding (≈ 50 guests)
≈ $22,000 – $35,000 all-in
Package at the 50-guest tier + estate or winery venue + full dinner service + photography. A complete wedding day at roughly half the regional traditional average.
Ranges reflect what we typically see planning Sonoma County micro weddings; your venue choice and date move the numbers more than anything else. For the generic micro wedding math beyond Sonoma, see our micro wedding cost guide.

A traditional 100+ guest Sonoma wedding commonly runs $60,000–$100,000+ once venue, catering, and a full vendor team are counted. A micro wedding (under 50 guests) planned through Our Little Wedding typically lands between $7,000 and $35,000 all-in depending on guest count — package from $4,500, plus venue, food & beverage, and photography.
Guest count. Nearly every line — food, beverage, venue size, rentals, invitations — scales with heads. Cutting a Sonoma guest list from 120 to 30 routinely cuts the total budget by more than half while upgrading the food and the venue.
Meaningfully. Friday and Sunday dates, weekday celebrations, and the November–April off-season often price 20–40% below peak Saturday rates. September–October harvest Saturdays are the most expensive and the first to book.
The common ones: ceremony site permits, vendor meals, service charges and Sonoma County sales tax on catering (service charge plus tax can add 30%+ to the F&B subtotal), transportation between sites, and marriage license fees. We put every one of these into your budget from day one so nothing appears late.
Usually, and it's always less work. Booking an officiant, florist, baker, hair & makeup artist, and day-of coordinator separately in Sonoma typically totals more than our package price — before counting the hours you'd spend finding and managing five vendors. Our fee is flat and stated up front; vendors you book directly are billed at their own prices with no markup from us.
